Here are just a few ways to take proper care of your candles so that they'll last longer

If you're like most people, your home probably has a few candles scattered around the house. This is not surprising; after all, there's something about their flickering light, which invites relaxation and provides an atmosphere of coziness in any room. Plus, they add such a lovely fragrance to the air! But how often do you think about taking care of these delicate items? Candles are much more than decorative pieces-they require some TLC too! Here are just a few ways to take proper care of your candles so that they'll last longer:

1)  Trim the wicks

This is a step that should be done regularly, Even if you don't burn your candles often. When a candle's wick becomes too long, it will smoke and emit black soot. The first sign of this occurring is usually when the candle appears to produce more smoke than usual while being burned-this can also indicate other problems with the candle (for example, if there are cracks in its wax).

Candles need to trim their wicks regularly because they tend to absorb things from their surrounding environment over time, just like any other natural material would. For instance, soy wax absorbs scents very quickly, which may cause them to lose some of their potency and change colors; make sure that you trim wicks regularly. Trim your candle 1/4 inch before each burn with a wick trimmer or a nail clipper.

2)   Wax pool management

When you first light your candle, you should allow it to burn until the wax has melted evenly from the wick to the candle’s edge. This is called "maintaining a proper melt pool." A well-formed melt pool will help conserve soybean oil and enhance fragrance integrity within soy candles. Some manufacturers of soy candles

3) Keep them away from drafts or breezes

Candles are extremely sensitive to changes in air currents. Therefore, it's important that they're kept away from any open windows or doors where there may be a lot of airflow or breeze coming through the room. If these candles aren't placed out of the way and/or on top of something which blocks their access to drafts.

4) Always burn candles on heat resistant surfaces

If you have a favorite little table that's just perfect for burning candles, make sure to keep it safe by placing a heat-resistant surface underneath them. You can find these types of surfaces at home improvement stores and they're relatively inexpensive-plus, most come with an easy cleaning method! A ceramic tile works well because if the candle accidentally gets knocked over (which is more likely when there isn't anything blocking its path), this type of material will absorb the wax rather than letting it melt onto your tabletop or wood flooring below.

5) EXTINGUISH YOUR CANDLE PROPERLY

When you're done burning your soy candle, make sure to extinguish the flame. This means that when it starts getting very small and you can barely see any light coming from its wick (which should be at least 2-3hours after you've lit it), Do not blow it out! Instead, use a candle snuffer, a wick dipper, or place the lid back on top of the jar or tin. The reason for this is because soy wax has a natural cooling effect which forces itself to contract so rapidly once air comes in contact with it again; this causes stress fractures within the soy, causing them to burn unevenly and deteriorate faster than they usually would if left alone at room temperature overnight.

As long as you remember to take good care of your soy candles from day one, they'll last up to 80% longer compared to paraffin ones. Although soy may be slightly pricier than paraffin wax candles, the cost is worth the benefits.

When you follow these tips, the candles in your home will have a much longer life. After all, who doesn't love to get their money's worth? And because they last so long when adequately cared for, it makes sense that you would want to keep them well-stocked! Plus, having too many is hardly ever an issue; after all, there are plenty of candle holders out there. Just remember: if anyone part of the candle isn't taken care of (the wick or the wax), its longevity will suffer greatly. Don't let this happen! Keep up with regular maintenance, and not only will your candles be more efficient, but they'll make your whole house smell wonderful!

So, the moral of the story is to show your candles love, and they will love you back; if you want them to last long (and keep that wonderful fragrance intact), they must be cared for correctly every step along the way, which means more than just burning them until there is nothing left inside.
